It doesn’t feel like Fall, but here we are!

I have some exciting news. This Fall, we’ll be trying out a new model for the Local Knowledge Blog. I have four authors committed to regular posts — be it once a week, once a month, or even once a semester. Jared will continue his weekly column, and three other authors have committed to writing once a month for LKB. I’ll be introducing the rest of the team as they write throughout the next few weeks.

As I’ve worked with the team over the summer, I’ve been honored by the energy they’ve shown for the effort. And I’ve been humbled by how many things they think we can be doing better here. You’ll notice as these new authors put their stamp on the blog that they’ve really pushed our coverage and analysis in new directions. One author wants to focus on the Camden foodie scene. Another is bringing regional expertise, examining how similar policy challenges to those in Camden manifest in other communities. A third wants to write about Camden’s cultural scene. A fourth is contributing views on Camden that come from outside the “downtown bubble.” More of my writing has been focused on the intersection of local and state politics, especially as I’ve increased my presence at Blue Jersey.

I’m excited. These new voices bring new energy. As always, please consider being a part of our team and submitting a guest post. Or maybe, if you’re especially inspired, or would like to see a new perspective here, consider committing to a weekly, monthly or even semesterly column!
