Excited to spread the word about a new program offered by the Latin American Economic Devleopment Association (LAEDA). The program, called “Dine Around Camden” will bring students to Camden restaurants once a month “to showcase Camden’s rich culture and cuisine and meet others from around the city.”
The first lunch is this Friday, November 15th from 12:30pm to 2pm. Buses will leave from the Business and Science building for San Lucas Mexican Restaurant at 2600 Federal Street.
I can’t make this week’s lunch, but I’ll be proud to attend and think the world of the folks over in the Office of Civic Engagement who worked with the Latin American Economic Development Association to put this together. Universities should be investing in their local communities, and while this type of a program is small, it sends the right message about being a part of the city (not apart from it).
