Yesterday I promised to update everyone as the School District posted more announcements. Let’s give credit where credit is due. The announcement about the town hall meetings is up. Here are the dates:

The following meetings will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. A light dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m.
– Wednesday, February 19 – H.B. Wilson Family School, 2250 S. 8th Street
– Thursday, February 20 – R.C. Molina Elementary School, 601 Vine Street

In addition, Camden Public Schools will hold two weekend meetings:
– Saturday, February 22 – Yorkship Elementary School, 1251 Collins Avenue, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
– Saturday, February 22 – Octavius V. Catto Family School, 3100 Westfield Avenue, 3:00-5:00 p.m.

The District also reached out to me personally. I still think that it’s important to address key issues publicly as part of transparency/participation, that the order in which the public is being told of plans/closings is worrying, and that some policy questions require written answers that go beyond town halls where back and forth is limited. But I’m also willing to sit down with folks who ask me to. So, a special thanks to the District. I look forward to discussing all of this.
